Time Period: After the Christmas party, after Persona infects him with the Mark of Death.
Brief Synopsis: Alice Academy lies somewhere in Tokyo. The students who go there each have one special ability – albeit some of them have more than one, but they are very rare – and they go to the school to get away from the outside world and have a chance to develop their abilities while spending time with their peers. The teachers also possess that one ability, or Alice as they are called. One of the teachers is the half Japanese half western pretty boy Narumi L. Anjou.
Narumi is twenty-seven years old and his Alice is Human Pheromone, which translates into that he can release pheromones from his body strong enough to seduce just about anything that has hit puberty, regardless of sex. If he uses his Alice against someone who hasn’t hit puberty yet – which happens from time to time to keep at least one troublesome student in check – the subject is overwhelmed by the hormones and gets incredibly high and/or loses consciousness. Narumi uses several limitation earrings and bracelets to keep his Alice in check.
Narumi’s character is happy-go-lucky most of the time, with a strong dedication towards his students. He often dresses in odd, colorful and frilly clothes, and he acts like your friendly neighborhood transvestite whenever he can, teasing his male students and flirting happily left or right. He has a heart of gold, but has his limitations and short comings; he knows he’s being monitored by the higher ups in school and as such has to keep himself from doing the right thing from time to time, because it could endanger not only his own future, but the future of those he cares about.
Because everything isn’t as it seems in Alice Academy.
There is something called the Dangerous Ability Class, and they’re in fact a secret army in the making, performing missions on the order of the government itself. Narumi himself, when he was a student at the school – even though the Dangerous Ability class wasn’t even formed back then – was sent out on missions where he was supposed to gather information and break up different plans by seducing the school’s – and the government’s – enemies. He was around ten – twelve years old when he was sent out on those kinds of missions, and he hated it so much that he asked one of the other students, whose Alice was the Stealing Alice – meaning that you could steal other people’s Alice – that she should steal away his despicable Alice. She – an older girl who was almost as frozen out by the rest of the school as Narumi himself was – didn’t do it, however, she did lessen the strength of the boy’s Alice.
When Narumi was a child he was cold, aloof and clearly put a distance between himself and everyone else in the school, but two people managed to break through his thick walls; the girl who helped lessen his Alice, and one of the male teachers, whose Alice was the nullification Alice, which meant everyone else’s Alice were rendered useless if he used his own; it also worked on Narumi’s Alice, and therefore the teacher was the only person Narumi couldn’t control/seduce/manipulate using his pheromones. He learned to love both of them dearly, and when the teacher was killed and the girl disappeared without a trace, Narumi told himself he’d watch over their daughter, Mikan Sakura, if she ever came to the Alice Academy herself.
She did just that, and Narumi discovered almost immediately that she had inherited her father’s nullification Alice. The school’s top feared that she would also inherit her mother’s Steal Alice, and therefore kept a close watch over her, making sure she couldn’t contact the outside world and had to work her way up through the hierarchy of the school from scratch. Narumi, as her teacher, did all he could to lessen the pain of her stay in the school, and he started to put his nose into things that the higher ups didn’t think concerned him. Therefore it was decided that he ought to be punished.
They sent the ‘homeroom teacher’ for the Dangerous Ability class after him; a mysterious man called Persona, and his Alice was the Death Alice; his touch could cause plants, animals and even people to wither away and die. During the Christmas Party held at Alice Academy Persona caught up to Narumi and placed the Mark of Death on Narumi’s hand, causing the poison to slowly, ever so slowly, make its way over his arm. When the infection reaches his heart he’ll die, unless someone manages to Steal away the Mark and through that Persona’s Alice’s effect on Narumi’s body. This was all a plan from the higher ups to cause Mikan to determine whether Mikan has the Steal Alice or not.
And it is right after Narumi goes to sleep the night after the Christmas Party that he wakes up in Sieben.
